Liebe Studierende,

https://fsr.saarland/step

Dear students,

You have made it - the Prep Course is over and the start of your studies is approaching. You have learned a lot about university maths in the Prep Course, but some questions regarding the everyday life at university surely remain:

  • How does the exam registration work?
  • What is the LSF / CMS / SIM and which accounts do I have?
  • What is the study regulation and why is it relevant for me?
  • What do I have to do to do a semester abroad?
  • How do I register for a language course?

The student council computer science will answer all these questions at the central introductory event for first-year students: StudierendenEinführungsPhase, or StEP for short.

The StEP will take place this week, from October 19 to 21; there is no registration necessary. There will be all-day presentations as well as evening events (like game nights). So it’s best to plan in the whole day!

For students of the international courses (international Bachelor Computer Science & Cybersecurity) there will also be a separate “International StEP” event in English.

All information can be found on the StEP website:

https://fsr.saarland/step

Furthermore, there are course-specific welcome events by representatives of the respective programs. They take place at different times. You can find them in the LSF or on the websites of the respective study programs:
